Finally gotten around to give the lost their wash. Only highlights and minor details and touch up left before sealing them.

USA wins over CSA

We had a battle in the gaming club as part of the ongoing ACW-campaign. The Union attacked Williamsburg to try to drive the CSA away and open the road to the south.

3.5 divisions Infantry and assorted cavalry and artillery attacked the entrenched CSA defenders (2 divisions with one more as possible reinforcement).

Due to some good Command rolls in the beginning my side (left flank of the USA) moved quickly forward and put early pressure on the CSA. The rest of the battle was slowly grinding forward, low command ratings made the USA advance slow and CSA didn't want to leave their protection. In the end I managed to break two regiments and a cavalry-force, breaking the whole brigade and forcing the CSA to withdraw.

Victory for USA! Let's continue south now....

Hell Dorado continued

Two Tormentors arrived in the mail today and a Squamata Spitter (from the french edition) is on it's way. The Spitter was a misclick, I really wanted to order the officer Isha-akshay but for some reason my cancellation of the order got canceled so now I have to roll with the punches. Isha is probably appearing sometime in the winter instead when I get aroudn to order him again....

Also ordered are a Jaws of the Deep and Saurav-Geet.

This means that I have almost doubled the available forces for my Company. That's before I have even played the game.

Now it's time to chill a bit and ease down on the purchases so I have time to paint them as well. But on the good side is that the Company as it stands are ready to be "masterclassed" (well, quotation marks since it's me doing the painting) with washes and highlights. Then it's only basing left THEN I can finally play with them. I guess.... another month?

Helldorado

In the middle of painting my Helldorado-company. I've chosen The Lost and I must say that the Helldorado-figures are a blast to paint. Crisp with a lot of details and quite a lot of character.

Hope my painting can do they a bit of justice.

Sort of forgotten about the blog. I actually have done quite some things but haven't had the thought of blogging about it.

Well. I'll try to change that. Just now working on my Helldorado-force (The Lost) and fleshing out the Malifaux-crew. Pictures will be forthcoming.

Stuff that just dropped on me

I have a friend that likes boardgames. Likes them alot which means he buys everything that's released for them. Preferably he buys FFG's games which means usually they come with quite a few miniatures. Now he has bought ANOTHER two expansions for Talisman which landed him some eight new models. Since he claims he can't paint (he haven't tried but...) he gives them to me instead so now I have them sitting on my table waiting for some paint.

But it didn't end there, he is also a big fan of all "Lovecraftian"-based games so he bought Mansion of Madness which netted him some 32 miniatures more.

So now I have some 40 boardgame miniatures to paint on top of the 8 Malifaux and 24 ACW laying on the table waiting for some attention. Oh, yeah.....

Have managed to finish of the last details on my Adriane Infinity Squad. Now I only have to base them and they are ready to take to the battlefield. I have based one of them and it's only a very basic flocking I think I'll settle for it. Better to get them ready than procrastinate over the basing as well. After that I only have to find an opponent...

Other things I have been busy with is to finally assemble

my Malifaux Starter Box. Damn, I really don't like working with metalmodels. Hard to glue is only the beginning but I think I have managed to make 'em stay together. Now it's time for some spray can time so I can start painting them.

And then I have all the models for my second ACW-regiment ready to be detail-painted. All the big blocks are done so now it's faces, leather and weapons up.

Another cannon with crew are finished along with four friends to the regiment, now the regiment can muster 20 man and can so be considered a 'ordinary'sized regiment instead of being 'small'.

Only another three regiments to do (let's see, 60 men minimum), some sharpshooters (I guess around 6-8), 12 cavalry and a General or two. I shouldn't forget the dismounted cavalrymen either.

.... This will take me some time. I guess.

Just in time as well. They will be baptized in battle in just a few hours. Not much of ground training for those poor fellows.

They will also be followed by a single cannon with crew. Hope they will make me proud during the battle.

Have started to paint one cannon with crew. Hopefully it will be finished by next sunday.

Also some black boots are needed on the infantry, then some metallic on the rifles. After that it's off to the dipping world and mounting on bases.

Sorry, no pics but the battle ended with a narrow Imperial victory. 4 Bastions vs 3 hold by the evil Chaos/Ork-alliance.

Extremely close game that had to end at turn three due to time running out. As so often the case more or less the whole battle hinged on the two last armour-saves for my Terminatorsquad. If I made 'em, Victory! Fail then lose.

No 1's showed up so by teeth and claw we eeked out a win. If we had runned for another turn we probably would had faced defeat....

The small club-tournament was finished in good spirit and everyone was happy with how the day went.

The tournament used a modified NOVACon-system for the missions and it seemed everyone was happy with the format.

So, the final standings:
